Description
The Spider is designed to expand the number of input connections available to a Poseidon2 4002 by allowing up to 4 dry contacts or RJ11 sensors to be connected via an RS-485 bus. It features two RJ45 connectors for daisy-chaining multiple Spider units together, making it perfect for applications where extensive cabling is required, such as in server rooms, industrial buildings, and other complex environments. The Spider can be powered either directly through the RS-485 bus or by an external 12V power supply (via a barrel connector).
The device includes a DIP switch to easily set the address for each connected unit on the RS-485 bus, making configuration quick and simple. It also features signal indication for when a sensor value is being read or when a dry contact is switched. With the ability to react to extremely short dry contact pulses (as brief as 30 ms), the Spider offers excellent flexibility for various use cases.
